Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy

BART is excited to participate in the Massachusetts State Seal of Biliteracy program for the 2022-2023 school year. The Seal of Biliteracy is for any student who upon graduation demonstrates proficiency in English and ANY other language. Whether students speak a non-English language at home, or learned it at school or elsewhere, they can now receive this distinction for being bilingual, or multilingual.

The Seal of Biliteracy aims to celebrate the multiple languages that students in the BART community speak. It is an official notation on student transcripts that can also be used on resumes and employment applications. We look forward to honoring the language expertise and diversity in our district through this initiative.
