Who We Are

Our Mission

Berkshire Arts and Technology (BART) Charter Public School prepares students for college by promoting mastery of academic skills and content with a strong foundation in arts and technology. The school provides middle and high school students in Berkshire County with an educational community that regards everyone, including teachers and parents, as lifelong learners.

Our Core Belief: Excellence is a Habit

"Excellence is a habit." — Aristotle

This powerful quote is the foundation of everything we do. At BART, we believe every child can excel and go to college.

Our purpose is to facilitate excellence and achievement through consistent effort within a supportive and vibrant academic environment. We instill in our students the lifelong habits of:

  • Working Hard: Committing to the learning process every day.
  • Cultivating Skills: Mastering academic content, arts, and technology.
  • Earning Success: Taking ownership of their educational journey and accomplishments.

Our History & Vision

Founded in 2004, BART was established to meet the needs of a new economy. Our history is one of not accepting the status quo—a testament to tenacity and effort triumphing over disadvantages or demographics.

We are committed to providing a rigorous education that opens doors for all students in Berkshire County.
